AI is already in the film industry, learn how to take advantage of it.

 

Artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into audiovisual creation processes. Rather than seeing it as a threat, screenwriters should learn to use it as a tool for assistance, exploration, and enhancement of their projects. This training aims to familiarize authors with all possible uses of AI.
 

Participants will discover how to use AI to refine their ideas, optimize productivity, and overcome creative blocks, all while maintaining an ethical and personal approach to authorship.

Learning Objectives

Module 1 – 8 hours (Day 1) – AI as a Tool for Creativity and Exploration

Understanding the Fundamentals

  • Introduction to AI tools for screenwriters and choosing a tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Sudowrite, etc.)

  • Various applications of AI in writing 

  • Ethics and AI: What limits? What precautions?

 

Initial writing exercises with AI

  • Generating and structuring a film idea with AI based on the story's entry point

  • Improving Proposals

Module 2 – 8 hours (Day 2) – Structuring and Writing with AI

​

Synopsis, Characters, and Treatment

  • Using AI to Develop a Synopsis from a Simple Idea

  • Transforming a concept into a coherent narrative structure

  • Case study: how to improve an existing project with AI

 

AI and Dialogue Writing

  • ​Experimenting with Dialogue Generation and Refining

  • Knowing How to Give the proper Instructions to AI to Maintain a Personal Style

  • Practical exercise: writing a dialogue scene assisted by AI

Module 3 – 8 hours (Day 3) – Optimization, rewriting, and integration into authorship

AI for Rewriting and Improving a Screenplay

  • Identifying weaknesses in a text with AI

  • Experimenting with rewriting techniques and improving descriptions and dialogues

  • Collaborative correction: enhancing a scene with AI and human suggestions

 

Present and defend an AI-assisted project

  • AI for pitching and creating presentation materials

  • Testing different pitches with AI to refine the hook

  • Defending your project with AI

  • Understand how AI can assist authors in imagining and writing screenplays

  • Learn how to use AI tools for brainstorming, narrative structuring, and dialogue creation

  • Understand the limitations and risks of AI (originality, bias, intellectual property)

  • Integrate AI into a personal writing process, without losing style or artistic identity

Intern Profiles

  • Screenwriters, directors, audiovisual and film professionals wishing to start a new project or improve a short film, feature film, or series project.

  • Producers with projects or wishing to develop new projects.

  • Film students or film professionals, and writers wishing to understand the challenges and possibilities of AI.

Prerequisites

  • Mastery of the  basics of dramaturgy

  • Acceptance of the training program and its internal regulations

  • Have a laptop with a word processor

  • (Optional): Have a ChatGPT subscription.

Antoine Cupial

Scénariste et script-docteur

​Antoine Cupial is a screenwriter, dramaturgy consultant, and trainer with extensive experience at the intersection of writing, innovation, and entrepreneurship. After starting his career in the digital world, he has been writing for film, television, and publishing since 2006. He became a trainer and speaker for numerous organizations in France (EICAR, Ecole de la Cité, CIFAP, Séquences7, L'accroche scénariste, Libre Acteur, Studio Court Devant, Myschool, etc.). He is also the co-founder of Script-Services, a script doctoring agency and training organization. As a script doctor and a trainer, he has worked on more than 130 projects in 2024 and regularly works with writers, producers, and audiovisual institutions in France. Passionate about the evolution of narrative tools, he is currently exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on writing and creativity. Through his training courses, he helps screenwriters integrate these new technologies into their work process without losing their artistic uniqueness. His approach combines technical expertise, pedagogy, and a pragmatic vision of the writing profession in the digital age.
