Animation Filmmaker I India

Subarna Dash is an Indian animation filmmaker and an alumna of the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata. Recognised as a Berlinale Talent, her films have screened at festivals worldwide, including the Berlinale, TIFF, SXSW, and Annecy. Her work explores themes of the body, identity, and isolation with a touch of wit and humor. She's currently working on her feature film, In Heat, On Loop.
Abdelrahman Dnewar

Abdelrahman Dnewar is an Egyptian filmmaker based in Berlin. His short film My Brother, My Brother received international acclaim following its premiere at IFFR. The film screened at more than 65 international festivals, earning a Jury Special Mention at Clermont-Ferrand and the Golden Gate Award in San Francisco. His work is characterized by a spirit of formal experimentation, spanning animation, live action, found footage, sculpture, and both analogue and digital formats. Dnewar’s films explore doppelgangers, grief, and the dissolution of subjectivity in close relationships.

I have been working in the cultural field for over 30 years, mainly in the world of animated cinema. I co-founded the ANIMATOU International Animation Film Festival in 2006 and am currently its director. I have also worked in radio and
helped program festivals, and I enjoy leading creative workshops for children and adults. At the same time, I create in different artistic fields: painting, sculpture, linocut,
photography, performance, and jewelry. I like to use my creativity for social and cultural projects, because through meetings, culture, and animation, we can make a small difference and help make the world a better place
