Those Who Move

dir. by Stephanie Ricci I 20’ I Brazil

Over the course of one night, René navigates through her vibrant yet precarious life as a Brazilian immigrant in Lisbon. Moving through nocturnal encounters and queer parties, she drifts between fleeting moments of freedom and the weight of her uncertain future. In each interaction, René faces a revolving dilemma: to remain illegal in a city that feels increasingly unfamiliar, or to return to a home she once escaped. As the night unfolds, her external conflicts and inner turmoil intertwine, traversing themes of belonging and displacement in a life between two worlds.

The Fortunate

dir. by Habtamu Gebrehiwot I 15’ I Ethiopia

In a small church in southern Ethiopia, Pastor Mateyos is widely respected for leading a vigorous anti-alcoholism campaign within his congregation. Rahel, a weary choir singer, seeks his help with her boyfriend’s drinking. What begins as a compassionate counseling session soon entangles Mateyos in a moral dilemma, triggering a revelation that could shatter both his faith and his standing in the community. The Fortunate is a haunting exploration of buried secrets, fractured righteousness, and the fragile boundary between grace and hypocrisy.
